Singer 1507 August 18, 2010 BGM Bought this product on 7/17/2010. Arrived in 3 days (with paid extra shipping). My wife has used in on drapes .. hot pads.. shirts .. and .. sheets already. She likes it very much and it performs well.
Great little machine August 11, 2010 Gadget Guy (South Carolina) This sewing machine replaced my 38 year old dinosaur (which I packed up along with all the attachments and donated to charity).
After not sewing for many years I decided to start back. The Singer 1507 has all the basic features needed. Most of us don't use the millions of features on more expensive, complicated models.
I love the convenience of being able to move the machine to what ever location I wish. It's light weight and just the right size. Very easy to thread, too.
My only complaint would be the short electrical cord.
I am glad I made the purchase.
Had To See For Myself! August 5, 2010 spicegirl I had been reading a lot of negative comments regarding the Singer brand. The quality did a bit of a nose dive in the seventies and I just had to see for myself.
I also was looking for a machine that was easy to transport. My other machines (Elna 7200 and Babylock Elegante) are too heavy and too expensive to tote around.
The very first thing I did was to place the opened manual next to the machine and apply each step of every feature of the machine. This is where a lot of users run into problems - they do not read and apply.
After that, the first sewing I did was to hem a new pair of jeans. No problem. Just used a needle for jeans.
Great little machine!
Bobbin-induced head-ache! July 13, 2010 S. Thornton (Philadelphia, PA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a very experienced sewer, making lined clothing, slipcovers, etc. I have worked with only Singer sewing machines all my life. I am well-educated. But for the life of me I can't get this thing threaded! I bought this machine for my nieces to teach them how to sew. They are now watching cartoons while I enter my second hour struggling with this machine! The bobbin position is vertical. And while I understand that this new configuration is meant to make things easier, I fail to understand how.
BEWARE WARRANTY NOT VALID March 24, 2010 Evelyn Dilworth 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Beware when purchasing any products from Singer online. Your machine will not have a valid warranty. Also beware their customer service hours-- 8:30am - 4pm CT Monday through Friday and wait times are upwards of 30 minutes.
The needle arm on this machine did not line up with the bobbin hole rendering the machine unusable.
