Bobbin Jams after 2 hours July 28, 2010 William T. Rose (Twain Harte, CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Runs smooth and quiet at first but after two hours the bobbin jammed beyond repair. We have plenty of experience with sewing machines so I disagree with the reviewer who says it is probably user error. If you value any joy in your life do not buy this machine.
singer 2250 bobbin problem July 25, 2010 TG 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just purchased this machine. I will be returning it tomorrow. The bobbin keeps jamming. Too much trouble for someone who doesn't sew very much but just needed a simple straight stitch.
This Sewing Machine Made Me Cry June 28, 2010 Stroller Snob (Salt Lake City, UT) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this sewing machine at the Target After Thanksgiving Day Sale -an impulse buy not a planned one. The thing sat unopened in my closet for one year. I finally brought it out to make Halloween costumes (we went as the Rubbles & Flintstones). This sewing machine kicked some serious booty the very first time I used it and was happy with my purchase. However, I brought it out six months later and the bobbin kept jamming each and every time I tried to sew with this darn thing! I ended up crying on some of my attempted sewing projects because the bobbin jammed each and every time. I am not a neophyte when it comes to sewing. I oiled the bobbin & adjusted the tension with no such luck. I grew tired of crying myself to sleep because of my failed sewing projects. I will have to look for another sewing machine that won't make me cry.
Do not buy this machine June 9, 2010 Newell I bought this machine for the various stitches. I'm an intermediate sewer. So help me God, this piece of crap won't allow you to make a four sided square PILLOW without the bobbin jamming every 10 stitches or so. There's no way you will be able to make anything with curved sides or fancy stitches. It can't make a short STRAIGHT stitch without jamming. I ended up having to put it away and go and plug in my 12 year old NON-SINGER machine which finished the job with no problem at all.
And that stupid sideways thread holder at the top only means the thread unwinds too fast.
Just bought this one May 3, 2010 Charlene (Modesto, California) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I just bought this machine, and love it. It runs so smoothly. The bobbin has not jammed on it, as others have complained. Perhaps they had the bobbin threaded backwards? That will make it jam up, because I've used older machines that have the same bobbin assembly, and you have to have the tension right, and the thread going in the correct direction, which is clockwise.
