Lack of service August 16, 2010 Lisa Godfrey (Charlotte, NC United States) I received my machine quickly enough from the seller (Ken's). Unfortunately, it took me way past their 30 day guarantee(not mentioned in the info when my husband purchased the machine for me)to determine that I have a defective unit and that I wasn't simply making mistakes with the thread/tension. So now I'm stuck with a defective machine that Ken's will look at but I have to pay shipping or toting it to the one repair shop in Charlotte.
Save your money and go to a local vendor with better after-sales service.Brother LB6770PRW Project Runway Sewing-and-Embroidery Machine
Me + Brother Sewing Machine = LOVE July 13, 2010 Michigan Mommy (Fenton, MI United States) Obviously, I love this machine! I had only been sewing a couple of years and maybe one or two times a year until I got this Brother. Now, I sew nearly every single day. I really hope I don't wear it out! I love the button controlled sewing; I have yet to use the foot pedal but the automatic threader is beyond awesome! I have made many, many dresses and outfits for my daughters and others and it wouldn't be possible without such an easy to use, fun machine. Next, I have to do more embroidery but I have been sewing so much, I just haven't had time to really explore it! The only slight complaint I have is the thread cutter next to the bobbin (button controlled). I have to take the bobbin feed plate off at least once every 1 1/2 weeks to clean out the fiber dust bunnies that have gathered or the thread will stick after being "cut". (I just use a can of compressed air and the brush that came with the machine.) However, I do use this machine almost enough that would require me to move up to a commercial grade machine so I think my little workhorse is doing great keeping up with me! I would buy it again and again!
Kens Sewing is a great company to work with. May 24, 2010 C. Douds (Canton MI) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recently bought a Brother LB6770PRW sewing machine on Amazon through Kens Sewing.
The machine arrived quickly within 3-4 days of ordering. However, when I realized that it was not computer compatable I called Ken's and they were so helpful! They let me return the machine and purchase the Brother LB6800PRW and even helped with some of the shipping costs. Great family owned company to work with and I am sure this new machine will be just what I want!
East to use! April 26, 2010 Sharon Cadaret (Mojave, CA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I had a $1200 Pfaff I bought 25 yrs ago, and wore it out! I wanted a new sewing machine, but didn't want to spend a lot. I knew that Brother machines were highly rated, and so I decided on a Brother. It was scarey buying a machine I had not personaly seen demonstrated and tried out, but being disabled and living a 40 mi from the stores made it necessary. With grandchildren now, I thought that it would be fun to have some embroidery functions on it, but didn't need a lot of fancy things. For $499 I got a really nice machine. As noted by other reviews, the manual is very easy to understand-Yeah! Even if you aren't comfortable with computerized functions, this is very easy to use. I have not done embroidery yet, but I made a dress with 9 buttons down the front, and would normally dread making button holes, but it was so easy and the button holes turned out perfectly! This sewing machine makes sewing enjoyable again! This is a great sewing machine for anyone, and you get a lot for the $$$!
I LOVE THIS SEWING MACHINE!
Sewing is now fun! April 26, 2010 M. Neely (mississippi) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have been sewing on a Singer for a few years now. Just stuff for around the house. Pillows, curtains, etc. I have been doing toddler clothes for the last year and was ready to have a machine that would monogram. Sewing is so much more fun and easy with this machine! I am finishing outfits sooooo much faster! The embroidery option is wonderful and easy to learn.
The 5 fonts that come with the machine are fine, the embroidery and applique patterns are not really anything that I would want or use on a regular basis. I hate that I have to buy the Brother software ($115) to get really cute appliques and fonts converted to my machine but that is just the way it is.
Overall, very easy to use and a great price point.
